Get Ready To Floss, Chicago!
Hooray! Teeth is FINALLY entering the Chicago market in March, according to one of my sources. Ooh, doesn't that sound official? I've always wanted to say that. In all seriousness, though, I've been in communication with a wonderful woman who works as a buyer for Cinemark/Cinéarts. I'm not going to lie - I did some heavy, yet dignified, begging. I was just seeing what she could find out from the distributor, if there were any plans for Chicago at all, and if they could possibly get it in one of their locations (someone in another city mentioned they had asked and received). Long story short, she spoke with the distributor, and Teeth will be opening in Chicago in March! It's not going to be at a Cinemark theater (although I'm now a lifetime patron because of this woman's efforts and kindness - if I was on The Simpsons, I'd be waving a little flag that said "Cinemark" on it right now), but it'll be at one of their competitors. So, we have confirmation at last. My source is especially awesome because she's going to keep me posted on the when and where. When I know, you'll know. People in Chicago need to see this film in droves. I promise it's worth it. I'll be waiting eagerly. Until it arrives, you can find me building a shrine to the tooth fairy, smacking my lips, masticating over the good times to come, and concocting more lame teeth-related puns and double entendres.

I absolutely loved TEETH! It said on Moviefone that it was released on Jan.18th, but it's not playing anywhere in Chicago. So March it is. Go see it with a bunch of friends! Share the nonstop, hysterical laughs. Teeth is truly a horror comedy.
I can't wait to see this film again. I loved it, too. It's so awesome! I don't get the deal with Chicago getting it so late, but if it'll be here in March, I'll take it. Just as long as it gets here! Oh my god, it's SO hilarious! It was one of the most electric screenings I've ever been to. Thanks for reading!
I graduated in May 2008 from Columbia College Chicago. I have a BA in Film with a concentration in Critical Studies. Film is my passion. I'm a full-time film buff and, more specifically, a classic film fanatic. I know the term "classic" is used very loosely, but I mean American films produced in the studio system between roughly 1930 and 1960. I love everything about this era. My second passion is writing, especially about film. I love doing research, deconstructing and analyzing films, and writing very academically and critically about them. I ultimately want to be a film historian, but I am also interested in working in archiving or preserving films. I want to write analysis or reviews for a publication, as well as my own books. Writing is a beautiful, artistic process to me, and I always need to be writing about film in some capacity in order to thrive as a scholar, a cinéphile, and a person. Now that I'm done with school for the time being, I need an outlet for writing about film on a regular basis. So what you'll find on here will solely be about film, with maybe the occasional entry on something else. I hope you enjoy reading what I have to say as much as I enjoy writing it.
I encourage and welcome comments and feedback. Just to clarify, since I know it's a bit confusing when you get there, you can post a comment and just leave your name without putting a URL. Please let me know how you think I'm doing. Whether you agree or disagree, or if you just like my writing, I'd love to hear it. Thanks for reading!
"Oh, I once was a cliché." - a good-natured, playful Colin Farrell after Ricky Gervais introduced him to present at the Golden Globes by talking about drunken, hell-raising Irish stereotypes
